Health, Hygiene, and COVID Safety
The recent coronavirus pandemic has taught us all the importance of health and hygiene in the workplace. While COVID-19 is still in our communities, the risks of transmission of all viruses presents an OH&S risk for our workplace, for you and your family.
If you are unwell with any symptoms of COVID-19, or any other contagious illness (influenza, gastroenteritis, etc.), please stay home to reduce the spread of any virus.
If you suspect that you may have contracted COVID-19, you will need to undertake either a RAT or PCR test to determine your COVID-19 status.
If you test positive for COVID-19, government guidelines recommend that you isolate for at least 5 days or until you no longer have any symptoms. This means that you should not attend work during this time, unless you are well and able to undertake your work from home. Employees who are isolating due to a positive COVID-19 test should advise their manager of their test result as soon as possible.
While you are unwell with any illness, employees will be able to access their Personal Leave entitlements. Access to Annual Leave entitlements may be considered if you have insufficient Personal Leave entitlements.
You are able to return to work as long as you are not still experiencing symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills or sweats. Regardless, once you return to work you may be required to wear a face mask for the first 5 working days, to ensure the health and safety of those that you are working with.
At all times, the following Infection Control Safety Practices should continue to be practiced:
